Description1930 C.F. Martin & Co. model 00-28, serial number 45243, in natural finish. The guitar features Grand Concert body style with solid spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, round soundhole with three-stripe 5/9/5 grouping rosette, ivoroid top binding, herringbone top purfling, three-ply back binding with ivoroid outer layer, zig-zag back stripe, slotted diamond fingerboard inlays, with no pickguard. In a hardshell case.Martin began producing the Style 28 series of guitars in 1898, with a new brace introduced in 1925 to allow for steel strings. The 00-28 was known for their spruce top and rosewood backs and sides. Production of the original 00-28 ended in 1941, but has since been revived.
