Description2004 C.F. Martin & Co. Custom Shop recreation of "The Celtic," serial number 980836. The guitar features extensive Celtic knots on the pickguard and fretboard, and also features abalone herringbone purfling throughout. The label, signed by C.F. Martin IV is personalized for "Jim Irsay." In original custom shop hardshell case.This custom shop guitar is an exact replica of the very first Martin milestone guitar finished in 1997 to commemorate the 600,000th Martin guitar. The guitar was the most elaborately decorated Martin guitar at that time, featuring extraordinary inlay work by Larry Robinson. This 2004 recreation of the original 1997 Martin museum piece Celtic coincides with the release of the less elaborate D-45 Celtic Knot released in 2004 in a limited run of 30 instruments. This recreation of the original 1997 Celtic features the much more elaborate master inlay work of artist Larry Robinson.
