Martin introduced the 0-15 line of guitars in 1940 as a basic setup of parlor-sized instruments. The 0-15 proved popular, with Martin manufacturing over 500 of the instruments in its first year. Its all mahogany construction and minimal embellishments made it a budget-friendly guitar that still maintained a quality sound. The 0-15 model's popularity increased further when folk singer Woody Guthrie began using the instrument. Martin discontinued the 0-15 model in 1961.
