Trinidad "Trini" Lopez III (1937-2020) was an American guitarist, best known for his 1963 cover of Pete Seeger's "If I Had a Hammer." Lopez released 32 albums across his career, several of which charted in the United States and Europe. His debut live album, Trini Lopez at PJ's, was his best selling album and reached #2 on the Billboard charts. Lopez toured extensively, including the night club and Las Vegas circuit.

In 1964, Gibson partnered with Lopez on two signature models of guitars - the Trini Lopez Standard and the Trini Lopez Deluxe. The Standard model was based on Gibson's ES-335 semi-hollow body guitar and featured Lopez's design elements such as diamond motif fret inlays, its diamond sound hole shape, and his signature trapeze tailpiece. The Deluxe model was based on a jazz guitar design, with a hollow body and similar design motifs. Gibson's Trini Lopez guitars were produced between 1964-1971 and have since been played by musicians such as Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and Noel Gallagher (Oasis).
