Description2002 C.F. Martin & Co. Del McCoury model D-28DM limited edition guitar, serial number 913871 with limitation number 49/115, in natural polished gloss finish with Aging Toner top. The guitar features a spruce top with a rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fretboard with lapis dot inlays outlined in aluminum and 20th fret Del McCoury signature inlay. The interior label has been signed by McCoury.

Del McCoury (b. 1939) is a bluegrass guitarist and singer who has been the leader of the Del McCoury Band for nearly six decades. McCoury began as a banjo player before moving to rhythm guitar in Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys in 1963. McCoury struck out on his own in 1967, first calling his band Del McCoury and the Dixie Pals. In 1980s, Del's sons Ronnie and Rob joined the Del McCoury Band on mandolin and banjo, respectively. With the Del McCoury Band, he has won one Grammy (2006 - Best Bluegrass Album), and was inducted into the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
