Johnson then served as a session musician while continuing as a solo artist. His 1990 album "Ah Via Musicom" was his most popular release, reaching Platinum certification and topping at #67 on the Billboard 200 chart. The single "Cliffs of Dover" reached #5 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
