Description2011 Gretsch Custom Shop G6128T-GH George Harrison “Tribute” Duo Jet, serial number 21179-06, in distressed Black finish. The guitar features single cutaway, mid 1950s chambered Mahogany body with pearl block fingerboard inlays, Gotoh vintage-style tuners, vintage-style rocking bar bridge with ebony base, modified Bigsby B6c tremolo tailpiece with black Phillips head tremolo arm pivot. In an original case.

This guitar is part of a limited run of 60 guitars created as replicas of George Harrison's all-black 1957 Gretsch 6128 Duo Jet he played with The Beatles from the summer of 1961 through the spring of 1963. Harrison referred to his Duo Jet as his first "truly good guitar," and it can be heard on many early Beatles recordings, and, decades later, on his solo album Cloud Nine (1987) where Harrison posed with the guitar on the album cover. Harrison used this guitar on The Beatles first recording session at Abbey Road in June 1962, and it can be heard on Beatles songs such as “Please Please Me," “I Saw Her Standing There,” “Love Me Do,” “P.S. I Love You,” “Do You Want to Know a Secret,” and “Twist and Shout.”

Gretsch master builder Stephen Stern and his team created these replica guitars with a level of precision that included the exact same tarnish, scratches, dents, and details like the tremolo arm of its Bigsby B6C tailpiece having a black Phillips head pivot bolt.
