As the actual president of Ukraine, Zelenskyy mirrored his character's arc, fighting corruption and serving as an political outsider. During Zelenskyy's presidency, a protracted war with Russia expanded to a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Zelenskyy's courageous response earned him the Time Person of the Year honor in 2022.
